As well as the nearby towns there are many interesting sites to visit. . Ten villages are classed as "les plus beaux villages de France". This is more than any other department.They include Conques, Estaing,Saint Côme d’Olt and Sainte Eulalie d’Olt. Natural sites nearby include Bez-Bédène , views from Puy de Montabès, the Chateau de Valon, the Gorge de la Truyère and the waterfall "Saut du Chien".

This area is ideal walking and cycling country with many signposted paths. Fishing is a popular pastime in both the rivers and lakes. You may try your hand at canoeing/kayaking along the Lot There is a tennis court nearby and also facilities for horse-riding.
A short walk from the cottage will take you to woods and streams, as well as seeing outstanding flora. A 5km walk takes you to Puy de Montabes, one of the highest points of the Canton at 772m. You can see the mountains of the Cantal, the mountains of Aubrac, the Gorges of the Truyère and the Château de Valon.
